Versions 2.6.xx and 3.6.xx
Interface and optimisation.
Versions 2.6.xx and 3.6.xx introduce two key improvements to the interface and a new way of counting cameras resulting in optimized use of cameras.
This means several display data flows in different sizes and compression levels (as with Axis Communications cameras).
Save a desktop.
A "desktop" is a set of windows (individual displays, images, groups, digital video player).
You can, for each user, save one or more "desktops" that can be called up directly via the CamTrace interface or by clicking on an icon.
You can save a desktop and redisplay it in its original size and position.
Camera cycles.
New interface for displaying in cycle mode.
You can define one or more cycles, that is, successive display of several cameras in a single window.
Camera display time can be adjusted. You can stop the cycle for a given camera at any time, change cameras in the view,
start a recording or access the digital video player via the cycle.
Using different formats for the same camera.
When you create more than one logical camera corresponding to the same physical camera, camTrace counts only a single camera.
You can therefore create several logical cameras with different sizes and resolutions without danger of exceeding the number of cameras authorized by the license.
You can thus create a group made up of, for example, cameras defined as 160 x 120 with a compression of 70% and,
during alarm verification (individual display), access the same cameras defined as 640 x 480 with a compression of 60%.
Use of logical cameras also enables the allocation of separate rights to different formats and to record in a format different than that chosen for display purposes.
Version 3.5.xx
As of version 2.5.9, CamTrace also exists in Version 3.
This is a
major upgrade of system tools delivered with CamTrace.
Major upgrade of system tools.
- Use of FreeBSD 5.4 (instead of FreeBSD 4.7 in versions 2.x.xx of CamTrace).
- Use of PostgreSQL 8.0.1 (instead of PostgreSQL 7.2.2 in versions 2.x.xx of CamTrace).
- Use of Apache 1.3.33 (instead of Apache 1.3.27 in CamTrace versions).
- Use of PHP 4.3.10 (instead of PHP 4.2.3 in versions 2.x.xx of CamTrace).
CamTrace Version 3
With CamTrace Version 3 you can:
- support additional hardware and recent peripherals.
- improve security.
- manage increased disk space (2 Tb).
New CamTrace deliveries are progressively upgraded to Version 3
Careful:
It is not possible to upgrade Version 2 to Version 3 automatically.
You must perform a complete reinstallation with the CD, which leads to a loss of images recorded.
For those who do not wish to reinstall their system, CamTrace is still maintained in Version 2, in parallel to Version 3.
CamTrace Version 2.5.14 has the same video software version as CamTrace Version 3.5.14
Note that: there is nonetheless a restriction; monitor mode is not supported in Version 3 of CamTrace.
